Captain Russ Housby
Russ Housby was born and raised on fishing, as the son of a prominent angling journalist, his future could only be in fishing. He grew up fishing for anything that swam, fly fishing for trout in the chalk streams of England, to fishing for Porbeagle sharks in the English Channel. From the age of 13, his summer holidays were spent in Madeira starting his apprenticeship in Game Fishing. For 9 consecutive summers he lure fished for Blue Marlin with many fish over 800lbs caught and released. During the later part of these 9 years, he was spending the rest of his year fishing in destinations such as Cairns, Bom Bom Island, Ghana and Brazil. All of these places are renowned for Big Marlin. He refined his skills in ultra light, light and heavy tackle by fishing with some of the most well respected captains and crews in the world.
For the past 14 years, he has been fishing in Vanuatu. He has also spent time in New Caledonia, The Coral Sea and the East Coast of Australia. He has spent a lot of that time blue water fly fishing for Marlin, Dogtooth, Sailfish and Wahoo. Here are some of his career highlights...

Laura MacLucas
Born in Somerset in the UK Laura's passion for fishing has taken over from her career in horse riding. Having followed the sport around the world including regularly Marlin Fishing in La Gomera and Kenya, she decided the time was right to start working as crew. Having embarked on a 3 month fishing gig on a New Zealand boat November Rain Laura met Russ in Vanuatu and began running Nambas with him, turning her sport into a career. In between making lunches, looking after anglers and taking photos Laura is usually on the leader and despite her small size gives as good as she gets.
Laura manages the business side of Nambas and keeps the paperwork and bookings up together.

Alex Pandosy
Alex has fishing in the blood, with his father being a well known local Captain he's been fishing & diving since he could walk. His knowledge of knots and tackle in general is second to none, and he's a dab hand at rigging baits too. Of all the jobs he loves leadering blue marlin the most but he's just at home casting for GT's, jigging for dogtooth, or gaffing anything that moves. Alex also speaks three languages, can fillet 100 lb tunas in minutes and cooks a mean steak! All of these attributes really make him a great man to have on a trip with you when your fish of a life time is on the line.
